Pippi Goes on Board

Pippi is a young girl who lives independently in Villa Villekulla while her father serves as a pirate king in the Southern Seas and her mother is in heaven. Along with her neighbors, Tommy and Annika, she engages in a series of eccentric activities, including hosting an unusual birthday party and causing disruptions at a carnival. The plot involves Pippi dealing with school and the arrival of winter, while two criminals, Blom and Donner-Karlsson, attempt a failed heist after discovering her gold.

Directed by Olle Hellbom, this family film was released in 1969 as a joint production between Germany and Sweden. It follows his previous work, Pippi Longstocking, and precedes Pippi in the South Seas. The screenplay was written by Astrid Lindgren.
