I'm Not Ashamed

I'm Not Ashamed dramatizes the life of Rachel Joy Scott, a Colorado teenager whose journal writings form the basis of the story. At home, she deals with her parents' separation and the financial strain it places on her mother, while at school she navigates friendships and her own growing faith. Her habit of reaching out to classmates on the margins, including some who later turn against her, sits at the center of the film. The narrative builds toward the 1999 attack at Columbine High School, where Rachel was the first student killed.
