Line Walker

When a police computer system is wiped, the identities of a large group of undercover officers vanish from the force's records, leaving a senior officer unable to tell which of the missing operatives are still loyal police and which have crossed over to crime. Two years later, an officer now working in the narcotics division receives a coded message that only a small circle of insiders could have sent. The sender claims to be an undercover agent known as Blackjack, embedded for years inside a powerful triad, and offers to cooperate. His contact must decide whether he is a genuine agent, a criminal informer hunting for traitors within the gangs, or a fugitive using a false identity to escape justice, while the mob boss grows suspicious that someone in his ranks is a mole and rival henchmen compete for position.

This Hong Kong and mainland Chinese action crime drama was directed by Jazz Boon, his first feature, followed by the sequel Line Walker 2: Invisible Spy. Cat Kwan Ho-Ming wrote the screenplay, with Wong Jing and Tommy Leung Ga-Shu producing. Nick Cheung, Louis Koo, Francis Ng, Charmaine Sheh Sze-Man and Moses Chan Ho lead a credited cast of 77.

Released in August 2016, the film took about 89 million USD worldwide, a strong return for a Hong Kong production. On TMDB it holds a 6.4 rating from 78 votes, indicating a modest but positive audience response to the crime thriller.
