The Client List

Samantha Horton is a former Texas beauty queen, now a wife and mother of three, who works as a massage therapist. When she and her husband Rex, a former football player whose injured knee keeps him from working, face mounting debts and the possible loss of their home, she takes a job at a massage parlor in a nearby town. Only after starting does she realize the other women there are sex workers, and that clients expect more than massages. With no other way to support her family, she adopts the name Brandy and hides the true nature of her job from those close to her.

The film is directed by Eric Laneuville, whose earlier television directing credit is Born Into Exile, and written by Suzanne Martin. Jennifer Love Hewitt leads the cast as Samantha, with Teddy Sears as Rex and supporting roles played by Sonja Bennett, Lynda Boyd, Chelah Horsdal and Heather Doerksen. It runs 88 minutes and was produced for television in the United States by Sony Pictures Television Studios, Howard Braunstein Films, Jaffe/Braunstein Entertainment and Fedora Films.

Ratings are moderate: on IMDb it holds 5.6 out of 10 from around 9,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 5.9 out of 10 from roughly 283 votes. The much larger IMDb sample points to a widely seen television movie with a mixed response, and the audience scores sit close together rather than standing far apart.
