A psychiatrist from Istanbul named Şehnaz moves to a small coastal town for her mandatory service. While her own marriage appears perfect to others, she feels emotionally stifled. She begins treating Elmas, a young woman who was forced into an arranged marriage and is now suffering a breakdown. Elmas is suspected of causing the deaths of her husband and mother-in-law through carbon monoxide poisoning, though she has no memory of the event. As Şehnaz works to help her patient, the connection between the two women begins to change their perspectives on their own lives.
