A genetically modified python escapes from military custody following a transport accident near a small American town. The massive creature begins killing the local residents, leading to a series of brutal deaths. As the community is terrorized, a man named John Cooper becomes a suspect in the killings and must work to stop the monster. The creature was designed by Dr. Anton Rudolph to serve as a weapon, but the scientist has lost control of his creation.
