Columbus

Columbus is a drama set in the small Midwestern city of Columbus, Indiana, known for its modernist architecture. When Jin, the son of a renowned architecture scholar, arrives after his father falls into a coma during a speaking tour, he finds himself stuck in the town. There he meets Casey, a young library worker and architecture enthusiast who has put her own plans on hold to stay near her recovering mother. The two form a friendship as they navigate their complicated relationships with their parents and their uncertain futures.

The film is the first feature directed by Kogonada, who also wrote the screenplay. It stars John Cho as Jin and Haley Lu Richardson as Casey, with supporting roles including Michelle Forbes, Rory Culkin and Parker Posey. Produced by Depth of Field, Nonetheless Productions and Superlative Films, it is 104 minutes long.

Released in 2017, the film earned about 1 million dollars worldwide. It holds a 7.2 rating on IMDb from over twenty thousand votes and a 7.1 on TMDB from roughly five hundred.
