Maddy Whittier is an eighteen-year-old with a rare condition that keeps her immune system so fragile she cannot leave her sealed, climate-controlled home. Curious and imaginative, she has spent years cut off from the outside world and from ordinary teenage life. When Olly Bright moves in next door, their first contact comes through a window, and their relationship develops through messages rather than touch. Both are willing to put everything at risk for the chance to meet face to face.
