Cold Skin

Cold Skin is set on a remote island in the southern ocean, where a young man arrives to take up a year-long post as a weather observer. He finds the island's only other inhabitant, a lighthouse keeper, unwilling to welcome him, and the isolation of the place soon gives way to something far worse: after nightfall, strange creatures come out of the sea and lay siege to the island. The two men are forced into a nightly defence of the lighthouse, though the keeper is clearly withholding something about the attacks.

Directed by Xavier Gens, the film sits between The Divide and The Crucifixion in the run of features he made after Frontier(s) and Hitman. The screenplay is by Jesús Olmo and Eron Sheean, and the cast includes David Oakes as Friend, Ray Stevenson as Gruner and Aura Garrido as Aneris. The film was produced in Spain and France on a budget of about 10 million USD.

The film was released in October 2017 and runs 106 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6 out of 10 from more than 17,000 votes, while on TMDB it has 6.3 out of 10 from around 730 votes. A critics' rating of 6.1 out of 10 from 28 reviews places it slightly below the audience scores on both platforms.
