Polaroid

Bird Fitcher, a high school student who works in an antique shop, comes across a vintage Polaroid camera. She and her friends soon learn that anyone photographed with it dies a violent death before the same night is over. Bird and her friends must work out what the camera is and how to stop it before it reaches them all.

The film is based on Lars Klevberg's own 2015 short of the same name, and it is the first of the two features he directed, followed later the same year by Child's Play. Blair Butler wrote the screenplay, Chris Bender, Bob Weinstein and Roy Lee produced, and the cast includes Kathryn Prescott as Bird, Tyler Young, Keenan Tracey, Samantha Logan, Priscilla Quintana and Javier Botet. It was shot as a Canada, Norway and United States co-production and runs 88 minutes.

Released in 2019, the film took about 2 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 5.2 out of 10 from roughly 19,000 votes, and on TMDB 6 out of 10 from just over a thousand votes, so viewers are split rather than dismissive. A small group of critics rated it considerably lower, at 2.4 out of 10.
