Ong Bak 3

Set in fifteenth-century Thailand, Ong Bak 3 continues the story of Tien, a warrior who has lost nearly everything. Beaten and taken prisoner by the forces of Lord Ratchasena, he is tortured and left close to death, and the fighting skills he spent his life developing desert him. Villagers from Kana Khone bring him back and nurse him, and under the guidance of Master Bua he turns to meditation and discipline, gradually recovering his strength and working toward a new fighting method known as Nathayut. His recovery is interrupted when old enemies, among them the assassin known as Crow Ghost, return for a decisive confrontation.

Tony Jaa directs and stars as Tien, sharing directing and writing duties with Panna Rittikrai; both had made Ong Bak 2, the preceding entry, two years earlier. The cast also includes Primrata Dej-Udom, Dan Chupong, Nirut Sirijanya, Petchtai Wongkamlao and Sarunyu Wongkrachang. The film was produced by Jaa, Rittikrai and Somsak Techaratanaprasert.

Released in 2010, the Thai production is the closing chapter of the Ong Bak series built around Jaa. Audiences have been divided: on IMDb it holds 4.9 from about 15,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.1 from roughly 524 votes. A critics' rating of 5.7 from eight reviews places it slightly above the larger IMDb sample but below the smaller TMDB one.
