The Possession of Hannah Grace

Megan Reed, a former police officer recently out of rehab, takes a night-shift job in the morgue of a Boston hospital. A disfigured young woman's body arrives at the morgue, and Megan becomes unsettled by strange, violent occurrences in the basement corridors. It becomes clear that the remains are linked to an exorcism that went wrong, and that something demonic may still be at work inside the corpse.

Diederik Van Rooijen directed the film, which followed his 2013 feature Daylight and preceded Penoza: The Final Chapter in 2019. Brian Sieve wrote the screenplay, and Todd Garner and Sean Robins produced. Shay Mitchell plays Megan, with Kirby Johnson as Hannah Grace, Grey Damon as Andrew Kurtz, Stana Katic as Lisa Roberts and Louis Herthum as Grainger among a credited cast of 21.

Made for a budget of about 10 million dollars, the film took roughly 43 million dollars worldwide, a strong return on its cost. Reception was modest: on IMDb it holds 5.2 out of 10 from around 29,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.6 out of 10 from about 1,500 votes, while the critics' rating stands at 4.3 out of 10 from 56 reviews, slightly below the audience scores. It runs 86 minutes.
