Younghee, an actress, leaves Korea for Hamburg after her affair with a married man becomes public. She waits there for him to join her as promised, though she doubts he will, and spends time with an old friend who settled in Germany years earlier. She later returns home and meets former friends in the seaside town of Gangneung, where heavy drinking and long conversations force her to confront what she wants and how much love really matters in a life.
The film is a Korean drama written, produced and directed by Hong Sang-soo, the third of the fifteen features he has directed in chronological order, following Right Now, Wrong Then and preceding Claire's Camera. Kim Min-hee plays Younghee, with Jung Jae-young, Seo Young-hwa, Kwon Hae-hyo, Song Sun-mi and Moon Sung-keun in supporting roles. It runs 101 minutes and was released in March 2017.
On TMDB it holds a rating of 6.6 out of 10 from 162 votes, suggesting a modest but engaged response rather than broad agreement. The film belongs to the director's long-running examination of romance, drinking and self-deception, told here largely through its central performance and the conversations that surround it.
