Daphne

Daphne follows a young woman in London who masks her unhappiness with a witty, outgoing personality. She balances a demanding restaurant job with a chaotic social life, though she avoids emotional intimacy and remains distant from her mother. This routine is disrupted when she helps a shopkeeper during a violent robbery. The event forces her to break through her cynical exterior and confront the void in her life, leading her toward necessary personal change.

Directed by Peter Mackie Burns, this project follows his 2005 film Milk. The screenplay was written by Nico Mensinga and produced by Tristan Goligher and Valentina Brazzini. Emily Beecham stars in the title role, appearing alongside Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Nathaniel Martello-White, Ritu Arya, Karina Fernandez, and Sinead Matthews. The production involved a credited crew of 57 and a cast of 28.
