What's left behind the scenes
- Steven Bernstein wrote the screenplay while staying at the same hotel in London's Chelsea district where the poet Dylan Thomas (1914-1953) had stayed during his time in New York and where he passed away. Thomas entered the hotel lobby, announced that he had just drunk 18 shots of whiskey—which is likely a record—and fell into a coma, from which he never regained consciousness.
