Becoming Warren Buffett

Becoming Warren Buffett is a documentary about Warren Buffett, tracing how a boy from Nebraska grew into one of the world's most respected investors and, by his own account, one of its most frugal billionaires. He still lives in an Omaha house he bought decades ago and drives himself to the office, where he runs Berkshire Hathaway. The film follows that path and the people who shaped it, using home movies, family photographs, archival material and interviews with Buffett's relatives and friends, and with Buffett himself, who reflects on what matters once money has stopped being the point.

The film is directed by Brian Oakes and Peter W. Kunhardt and produced by Teddy Kunhardt. It runs 90 minutes and was released in January 2017, sitting alongside their later documentary Mario, which appeared in 2026. Buffett appears as himself, with Susan Buffett and Bill Gates seen in archive footage and Aiden Linkov playing a childhood friend in recreated scenes.
