Tubelight

Set in a small town in northern India in 1962, Tubelight centres on Laxman Singh Bisht, a gentle man whom neighbours nickname "Tubelight" for his slow understanding. He shares a close bond with his younger brother Bharat; with no other family, the two are inseparable. Their world is upended when war breaks out between India and China and Bharat is called up to serve in the army, leaving Laxman behind to cope with the separation and the troubling news arriving from the front. Laxman lives by the belief that keeping faith alive can make almost anything possible, and he sets out with the aim of ending the conflict and bringing his brother home.

Kabir Khan directed and co-wrote the film with Parveez Shaikh, and produced it alongside Salman Khan and Salma Khan. It followed Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan in the director's filmography, and came before 83 and Chandu Champion. Salman Khan plays Laxman, with Sohail Khan as Bharat, Om Puri as Banne Chacha, Yashpal Sharma as Major Rajbir Tokas, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub as Narayan and Matin Rey Tangu as Gu Won.

The film runs 136 minutes. It received weak audience scores: 4 out of 10 on IMDb from around 24,000 votes, and 5.3 out of 10 on TMDB from over 100 votes, indicating limited viewer approval for this drama.
