Spinning Man

Evan Birch is a philosophy professor at a respected college, a married man and a father whose charisma has made his lectures popular with students. When a young woman named Joyce Bonner disappears, Detective Malloy turns his attention to Evan, and evidence begins to point toward him as the prime suspect. Evan's account of his own movements is uncertain, and his wife, Ellen, finds her confidence in him shaken as the investigation closes in. The film follows his attempts to clear himself while the case against him tightens.

Spinning Man was directed by Simon Kaijser, his second feature after Stockholm East, from a screenplay by Matthew Aldrich. Guy Pearce plays Evan, with Pierce Brosnan as Malloy, Minnie Driver as Ellen, Odeya Rush as Joyce, Alexandra Shipp as Anna and Jamie Kennedy as Ross; twenty-five actors are credited, alongside a crew of forty-two. The production, a crime mystery and thriller spanning Poland and the United States, was made for about nine million dollars.

Released in April 2018, the film runs 100 minutes. On TMDB it holds a rating of 5.6 out of 10 from 489 votes, while a critics' rating stands at 5.3 out of 10 from twelve reviews, putting the two measures of reception fairly close together.
