The Last Recipe

Mitsuru Sasaki is a world-class chef with the rare ability to recreate any dish after tasting it only once. Despite his talent, his obsession with perfection has led to the failure of his restaurant and a loss of passion for his craft. To settle his debts, Sasaki accepts a high-paying commission to prepare a final meal for a client. The task requires him to rediscover a legendary recipe created by chef Naotaro Yamagata, which disappeared in Manchuria during the 1930s.

This Japanese drama was directed by Yojiro Takita, who previously directed films such as When the Last Sword Is Drawn, Departures, and Groper Train: Search for the Black Pearl. The movie features a cast including Kazunari Ninomiya, Hidetoshi Nishijima, Go Ayano, Aoi Miyazaki, Daigo Nishihata, and Yutaka Takenouchi. The screenplay was written by Tamio Hayashi.
