Pickle works nights as a security guard at a factory that makes bronze Buddha statues, while his friend Belly Bottom collects and recycles rubbish during the day. Pickle cares for his sick mother, and his friend brings him adult magazines; the two men share snacks and watch television to fill their uneventful evenings. When the television breaks, they turn to footage from a dash camera belonging to the factory's American-educated boss, which records his encounters with various women. What they see goes beyond voyeuristic entertainment.
The screenplay and direction are by Huang Hsin-yao, working here with producers Chung Mong-hong and Yeh Jufeng. The cast includes Cres Chuang, Bamboo Chen and Leon Dai. The film, a Taiwanese comedy-drama running 102 minutes, was released in October 2017.
On IMDb it holds a rating of 7.6 from roughly 5,400 votes, and on TMDB a rating of 7.9 from a small number of votes, both pointing to a generally favourable audience response. A critics' rating of 6.7 from 17 reviews is lower than the audience scores, indicating a more measured critical response than that of viewers. The wide gap between the two audience vote counts reflects the modest scale of the film's viewership on international platforms rather than any broad popular following.
