The Apparition

Jacques Mayano is a French journalist who is recruited by the Vatican to join a task force investigating a reported supernatural event. In a village in southeastern France, an eighteen-year-old girl claims to have seen the Virgin Mary. As thousands of pilgrims gather at TMDB, Mayano, who is not religious and has a traumatic past, uses an empirical approach to determine if the apparition was genuine. His investigation leads to the discovery of disturbing information.
