Short description
Vlad Tepes is a great hero, but when he learns the Sultan is preparing for battle and needs to form an army of 1,000 boys, he vows to find a way to protect his family. Vlad turns to dark forces in order to get the power to destroy his enemies and agrees to go from hero to monster as he's turned into the mythological vampire, Dracula.

- In reality, Prince Vlad III the Impaler had 2 wives, neither of whom was named Mirena, and 4 sons, none of whom was named Ingeras.
- Samantha Barks was originally cast as Baba Yaga, and Charlie Cox also received a role in the film. However, all scenes involving their characters were ultimately cut.
- Sam Worthington was considered for the role that went to Luke Evans.
- Filming, which began on August 5, 2013, took place in Northern Ireland. On August 5th and 6th, it was filmed in Roe Valley Country Park.
