Bāhubali 2: The Conclusion continues the story of Mahendra, a young man who learns of his royal lineage and sets out to uncover the truth about his past. His search for answers unfolds alongside events from an earlier era in the kingdom of Mahishmati, where rivalry and betrayal divided a family and shaped the fate of the throne. The film moves between the two timelines as Mahendra confronts the legacy left to him and the forces that still threaten it.
S. S. Rajamouli directed and wrote the screenplay, following Bāhubali: The Beginning (2015), the first instalment of the series. Prabhas appears in a dual role as both Mahendra and Amarendra Bāhubali, with Rana Daggubati as Bhallaladeva, Anushka Shetty as Devasena, Sathyaraj as Kattappa, Nassar as Bijjaladeva and Ramya Krishnan as Sivagami. The production, backed by Arka Media Works, was made on a budget of about 31 million dollars and earned roughly 265 million dollars worldwide.
On IMDb the film holds a rating of 8.2 from around 133,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 7.5 from over 800 votes, with critics placing it at 7.6 from 26 reviews. Its scale and international earnings made it one of the most widely seen Indian films of its time. Rajamouli went on to direct RRR (2022), followed by RRR: Behind & Beyond (2024), Bāhubali: The Epic (2025) and Vāranāsi (2027).
