Naomi's Journey

Naomi is a twenty-year-old woman living in Peru with her younger siblings. After her older sister is killed by her German husband, Naomi overcomes her initial reluctance to visit the site of the crime. She travels to Berlin with her mother to act as a joint plaintiff during the murder trial. Through the legal proceedings, Naomi learns about her sister's actual life in Germany and the possible motives for the killing, which forces her to decide how to move forward with her own life.

The drama was directed by Frieder Schlaich, following his 2001 film 99€ Films. The movie features Scarlett Jaimes in the title role, alongside Liliana Trujillo, Citlali Huezo, Michael Rothbart, Undine Weyers, and Martin Mrosk. To maintain realism regarding the legal process, the production cast actual judges, defense attorneys, and prosecutors to play the court personnel. The film was produced in Germany by ZDF and Filmgalerie 451 and had a runtime of 92 minutes upon its release in December 2017.
