Raazi

Raazi is set in the early 1970s, against the backdrop of the conflict between India and Pakistan. Sehmat, a young woman from Kashmir, is drawn into intelligence work when her ailing father, a long-serving operative, arranges for her to take up his role. To place her close to Pakistani military planning, a marriage is arranged between Sehmat and Iqbal Syed, the son of a brigadier general. She moves into her husband's family home in Pakistan and lives as an Indian asset, gathering information while those around her remain unaware of who she is. Her position grows more difficult as she becomes attached to her new family and to Iqbal.

Meghna Gulzar directed the film and shares screenplay credit with Bhavani Iyer. Released in May 2018, it was her third feature and stands between her earlier Just Married and later Chhapaak and Sam Bahadur. Alia Bhatt leads the cast as Sehmat, with Vicky Kaushal as Iqbal, Rajit Kapoor as her father, Shishir Sharma as Brigadier Syed, Ashwath Bhatt as Mehboob Syed and Jaideep Ahlawat as Khalid Mir. The production involved 63 credited cast members and 44 credited crew.

Made by Dharma Productions and Junglee Pictures, the film returned about 24 million US dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 7.7 out of 10 from roughly 37,000 votes, and on TMDB 7.3 out of 10 from 202 votes. A critics' rating of 7.9 out of 10 from 11 reviews places it close to the audience scores.
