Youth (Spring)

Set in Zhili, a textile production hub in China's Zhejiang province, this documentary examines the lives of young migrant workers from various rural regions. These individuals work in private workshops producing children's clothing with the hope of eventually buying homes or starting their own businesses. The film explores the bonds of friendship and romance that develop among the laborers as they navigate the pressures of family and financial instability.

The film was directed by Wang Bing and follows his earlier works, Tie Xi Qu: West of the Tracks and Venice 70: Future Reloaded. It precedes his subsequent projects, Youth (Homecoming) and Youth (Hard Times). Produced by Vincent Wang, the production involved companies from several countries, including France, the Netherlands, and Hong Kong. The cast features Hu Zuguo appearing as himself.
