Short description
Jean-Paul and Marianne are spending a relaxed summer holiday at a villa near Saint-Tropez. Their peace is disrupted when Marianne invites Harry, a former lover, and his young daughter, Penelope, to join them. The arrival of the guests creates an atmosphere of jealousy and rivalry among the four individuals. This psychological tension evolves into a dangerous game of passion and revenge, ultimately leading to a fatal confrontation and a subsequent police investigation.
Directed by Jacques Deray, this 1969 crime drama is the second film in a sequence of works that includes Symphony for a Massacre from 1963 and Borsalino from 1970. The screenplay was written by Deray and Jean-Claude Carrière. The film stars Alain Delon, Romy Schneider, Maurice Ronet, and Jane Birkin. Produced by Tritone Cinematografica and Société Nouvelle de Cinématographie, the movie is a joint production between France and Italy.
