Dora and the Lost City of Gold

Dora has grown up in the jungle, exploring alongside her scientist parents and learning to survive in the wild. When they send her to the city to attend high school, she finds the social rules of teenagers harder to read than any rainforest trail. The adjustment is interrupted when her parents disappear, and Dora sets out to find them with her monkey friend Boots, her cousin Diego and a group of classmates, following clues toward a lost Inca civilization and the treasure hidden within it.

The film was directed by James Bobin, whose earlier features include The Muppets, Muppets Most Wanted and Alice Through the Looking Glass, and was written by Nicholas Stoller and Matthew Robinson. Isabela Merced plays Dora, with Jeffrey Wahlberg as Diego, Madeleine Madden as Sammy, Eugenio Derbez as Alejandro Gutierrez, and Michael Peña and Eva Longoria as her parents. It is a family adventure comedy drawing on the animated television series, made on a budget of about 49 million dollars, and it took roughly 121 million dollars worldwide.

On IMDb it holds 6.1 out of 10 from around 39,000 votes, while on TMDB it has 6.6 from a much smaller number of ratings. A critics' score of 6.6 from 156 reviews places it slightly above the IMDb audience figure and level with the TMDB one.
