Dixieland: Little Kids Big Dreams

Dixieland: Little Kids Big Dreams is a documentary about four children in Kherson, Ukraine, who belong to a youth brass band. Using old and poorly tuned instruments, the group practices American music under difficult conditions to pursue their goal of achieving something significant in their lives. The children are supported by a young teacher and a conductor over eighty years old, relying on their humor and determination to move forward.

The film was directed by Roman Bondarchuk and written by Daria Averchenko. It is the first in a sequence of films directed by Bondarchuk, followed by Ukrainian Sheriffs and The Editorial Office. The production was a collaboration between companies from Ukraine, Germany, and Latvia, including VFS Films, Saxonia Entertainment, and AVANTIS. Daria Averchenko also served as a producer alongside Simone Baumann and Uldis Cekulis.
