Secret Reunion follows Lee Han-kyu, an agent with South Korea's National Intelligence Service who is tracking a North Korean assassin known as Shadow. When Shadow carries out a mission in Seoul with the help of a younger operative, Song Ji-won, the South Korean side moves in without waiting for backup. The operation ends badly for everyone involved: Ji-won is accused of betraying his own side and goes into hiding, while Han-kyu is dismissed over the failed mission. Years later, the two men meet again by chance, each having left his old life behind, and they begin working together while both conceal what they know about the other.
The film is the first feature directed by Jang Hoon, who wrote the screenplay with Choi Kwan-Yeong and Kim Joo-ho. It was produced by Jang Won-seok and stars Song Kang-ho as Han-kyu and Gang Dong-won as Ji-won, with Jeon Kuk-hwan as Shadow and a credited cast of forty-three. It runs 117 minutes and was released in February 2010.
On TMDB it holds a rating of 6.4 out of 10 from 149 votes. Jang went on to direct The Front Line the following year and A Taxi Driver in 2017.
