Elizabeth Shoaf, a teenage girl, is abducted by Vinson Filyaw, a fugitive wanted for a sexual assault, and held captive in a concealed underground bunker hidden in the woods. Cut off from everyone above ground, she learns that a large police search is underway, but no one knows where she is. Realizing that rescue may not come in time, she decides she must engineer her own way out and outmaneuver her captor if she is to survive. The story is drawn from real events that took place in 2006.
The film is directed and written by Stephen Kemp, following his earlier dramatization of a similar abduction case, Girl in the Box, released two years before. Julia Lalonde plays Elizabeth, with Henry Thomas as Filyaw, Moira Kelly as her mother Madeline, Neil Napier as Sheriff Thompson, Stephen Park as her father Don and Jeff Clarke as Officer Samuels. It is a Canadian television production made by Lifetime, Cineflix Productions and Rare Fish Films, running 88 minutes.
Reaction among viewers has been mixed: on IMDb it holds a rating of 5.8 from roughly 1,600 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 7.1 from a much smaller base of about 50 votes.
