Alex Strangelove

Alex Truelove is a high school student with a girlfriend, Claire, and a plan: to lose his virginity. His friends are eager for him to go through with it, and Claire is waiting, but Alex cannot work up much enthusiasm. At a party he meets Elliott, a college student who takes an interest in him, and the encounter pushes Alex to question a part of himself he had never examined. What follows touches on his relationship with Claire, his friendships, and how he sees his own future.

Alex Strangelove is a 2018 American comedy-drama written and directed by Craig Johnson. It is the third of his features, following The Skeleton Twins in 2014 and Wilson in 2017. Daniel Doheny plays Alex, with Madeline Weinstein as Claire and Antonio Marziale as Elliott; Daniel Zolghadri, Fred Hechinger and Nik Dodani appear among the supporting cast, and Ben Stiller is one of the producers.
