Think Like a Dog

A twelve-year-old science prodigy named Oliver sets up an experiment that misfires, and the unexpected result is a telepathic bond with Henry, his dog and closest companion. The two of them put their different views of the world to use, working through the everyday troubles of family life and school together.

Gil Junger directed and co-wrote the screenplay with John J. Strauss. The film is Junger's eighth feature as director, arriving after a run of comedies that began with 10 Things I Hate About You in 1999 and continued through Black Knight, If Only, Beauty & the Briefcase, Christmas Cupid, Teen Spirit and My Fake Fiance. Gabriel Bateman plays Oliver, with Todd Stashwick providing the voice of Henry. Josh Duhamel and Megan Fox appear as Lukas and Ellen, Kunal Nayyar plays Mr. Mills, and Madison Horcher plays Sophie. It is a British and American co-production from Mad Chance, M Star International and Arboretum Productions, running 91 minutes.

The film took in about 1 million dollars worldwide, a modest return. Audiences are split: on IMDb it holds 5.2 out of 10 from roughly 2,600 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.7 out of 10 from a much smaller base of 168 votes. A critics' rating of 5.8 out of 10 from 10 reviews places it above the IMDb audience score and below the TMDB one.
