A fourteen-year-old boy named John falls through the ice of a frozen lake and remains underwater for a significant amount of time. After being taken to the hospital, he shows no signs of life despite the efforts of medical staff. While doctors remain pessimistic, John's mother, Joyce, and her family rely on their religious faith and prayer to seek a miracle for the boy. Following an unexpected recovery, Joyce faces scientific explanations regarding her son's survival.
