Tina works as a customs officer at a Swedish border crossing, where her unusually keen sense of smell lets her detect contraband and the emotions of travellers passing through. When she meets Vore, a man whose appearance is as unusual as her own, she finds someone she cannot read as easily as everyone else, and the encounter pushes her toward unsettling discoveries about herself and about people in general. The film blends crime, drama and fantasy, based on a story by John Ajvide Lindqvist, who wrote the screenplay with director Ali Abbasi and Isabella Eklöf.

Eva Melander plays Tina, with Eero Milonoff as Vore, alongside Jörgen Thorsson, Ann Petrén, Sten Ljunggren and Kjell Wilhelmsen. Gräns was released in September 2018 and runs 110 minutes; it was produced in Sweden and Denmark. It is the first of three features Abbasi has directed, followed by Holy Spider in 2022 and The Apprentice in 2024.
