Like Father

Like Father centres on Rachel, a driven young advertising executive whose wedding day falls apart when she is left at the altar. Her estranged father Harry, a workaholic she has barely seen since childhood, turns up at the reception. After a night of heavy drinking the two wake aboard the Caribbean cruise ship that was meant to carry Rachel on her honeymoon, with Harry along for the trip instead of a husband. Stranded together at sea, father and daughter must work through years of distance and resentment.

Kristen Bell plays Rachel and Kelsey Grammer plays Harry, with Seth Rogen appearing as Jeff. Lauren Miller directed and wrote the screenplay, producing alongside Molly Conners and Anders Bard, and the film runs 103 minutes. It is the first of the two features Miller has directed, followed by Babies in 2026.

Audience response has been moderate: on IMDb the film holds 6.1 out of 10 from roughly 24,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.2 out of 10 from about 710 votes. Those figures point to a mildly received comedy drama rather than a widely embraced one. The supporting cast includes Amber Hodgkiss, Zach Appelman and Brittany Ross, among 27 credited performers.
