The world has been overrun by flying predators that hunt by sound alone, making the faintest noise fatal. Sixteen-year-old Ally Andrews lost her hearing three years earlier, and her heightened senses let her detect the creatures before others can. When she and her family leave the city for a remote refuge, they run into a cult that wants to exploit her abilities for its own purposes.
John R. Leonetti directed the film, the sixth in his filmography and his follow-up to Wish Upon. Shane and Carey van Dyke wrote the screenplay, and Stanley Tucci, Kiernan Shipka, Miranda Otto, John Corbett and Kate Trotter lead a credited cast of thirty. The production was mounted by Constantin Film, Mister Smith Entertainment and EMJAG Productions across Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States, and it runs 91 minutes.
Reception was modest. On IMDb, viewers rate it 5.4 out of 10 from roughly 55,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6 out of 10 from about 1,700 votes, higher than the critics' rating of 4.2 out of 10 from 37 reviews. The worldwide box office take of around 2 million dollars points to a limited theatrical footprint.
