Darlin'

Darlin' follows a feral teenage girl who is found at a hospital in filthy, hostile condition and taken to a Catholic home for girls run by a bishop and his nuns. There she is meant to be rehabilitated into a respectable young woman, presented as proof of the church's good works, while the bishop hopes her salvation will secure funds he badly needs. Darlin' resists, and she carries a secret beyond the sins she is accused of. The Woman who raised her in the wild is still searching for her and will not let anyone stand in her way.

The film is a direct sequel to The Woman and is written and directed by Pollyanna McIntosh, who also appears as The Woman. This is the first feature she directed, followed the same year by her segment of Deathcember. Lauryn Canny plays Darlin', with Bryan Batt as the bishop, Nora-Jane Noone as Sister Jennifer, Cooper Andrews as Tony, and John McConnell as Dr. Grant, among a credited cast of twenty-one. Andrew van den Houten produced.

Released in September 2019, the film runs 101 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.9 from around 2,600 votes, and on TMDB a 5.3 from roughly 150 votes. A critics' rating of 6.2 from 29 reviews sits noticeably higher than those audience scores.
