D.E.B.S. follows a squad of teenage girls recruited into a secret government agency through a standardized test that hides in plain sight. Dressed in school uniforms, Amy, Max, Dominique and Janet are trained as undercover operatives. Their assignment is Lucy Diamond, a criminal mastermind, but the operation takes an unexpected turn when Amy and Lucy become romantically involved, leaving the agency and the girls to sort out where their loyalties lie.
Angela Robinson wrote and directed the film, her first feature, followed by Herbie Fully Loaded in 2005 and Professor Marston and the Wonder Women in 2017. Sara Foster plays Amy and Jordana Brewster plays Lucy, with Meagan Good, Devon Aoki and Jill Ritchie as the other agents and Geoff Stults as Bobby. The production, from Screen Gems, Anonymous Content, Destination Films and Andrea Sperling Productions, was made for about four million dollars over a 91-minute runtime.
On IMDb the film holds 5.5/10 from roughly 20,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.5/10 from around 658 votes. A critics' rating of 5/10 from 63 reviews places it below the audience score. The modest vote counts on TMDB relative to IMDb indicate a small but engaged audience rather than a broad one.
