Crowbar Smile

Nate takes what looks like an ordinary summer job mowing a neighbor's lawn, and the encounter that follows changes his life. That simple setup anchors this short comedy-drama, which runs eighteen minutes and was released in February 2017.

Jamie Mayer directed the film and wrote the screenplay. It was produced by Kip Pastor, Michelle Fightmaster and Josh Hutcherson, with Indigenous Media behind the production. Tristan Lake Leabu plays Nate, and the cast also includes Serinda Swan as Julia, Emily Robinson as Marissa, Christian Delgrosso as Mouth, Sara Melson as Ms. Gilbert and Sander Thomas as Dash.

Audience response has been modest. On IMDb the film holds a rating of 6.2 from 46 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 4.3 from three votes. The two figures reflect how small the viewing pool remains on each platform, and the much lower TMDB score rests on so few votes that it carries little weight. The film's short length places it among compact, character-driven American independent productions.
