Oslo

Oslo is a 2021 drama based on the true story of the secret talks that produced the 1993 Oslo Peace Accords between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization. With official channels at a dead end, a small group of Israelis and Palestinians meets quietly in Norway, brought together through the efforts of a Norwegian couple, diplomat Mona Juul and researcher Terje Rød-Larsen. What begins as an informal back channel gradually becomes the negotiation on which a peace agreement depends, as the participants work through decades of hostility and distrust.

The film was directed by Bartlett Sher, a stage director, from a screenplay by J.T. Rogers, who also wrote the play on which it is based. Ruth Wilson and Andrew Scott play the Norwegian couple at the center of the talks, while Salim Daw, Waleed Zuaiter, Jeff Wilbusch and Igal Naor appear as the Israeli and Palestinian participants. It is a co-production between DreamWorks Pictures, Marc Platt Productions, Bold Films and HBO Films, made for television.

Oslo runs 118 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.7 from around 6,000 votes, and on TMDB it has a rating of 6.6 from roughly 117 votes, indicating a modest but generally positive response from viewers. A critics' rating of 6.1 from 25 reviews puts it somewhat below the audience scores.
