A murdered high school student named Michael has his brain transplanted into a robotic Tyrannosaurus by a scientist with sinister intentions. After escaping the laboratory, the creature seeks out those responsible for Michael's death and reunites with Tammy, the girlfriend who recognizes him despite his new appearance. As the mechanical dinosaur pursues vengeance, its creator and the police both try to track it down.
Tammy and the T-Rex was released in 1994 and was directed by Stewart Raffill, who also wrote the screenplay with Gary Brockette. It sits between Mannequin Two: On the Move and Grizzly Falls in Raffill's filmography, the seventh of the nine features listed. Denise Richards plays Tammy and Paul Walker plays Michael, with Terry Kiser as Dr. Wachenstein, George Pilgrim as Billy, John Franklin as Bobby and Theo Forsett as Byron. The film was produced by Diane Kirman for Greenline Productions on a budget of about one million dollars.
The film mixes comedy and horror with romance and science fiction, following the animatronic dinosaur as it disrupts a party and searches for a way to place Michael's brain back into a human body while evading capture. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.4 from roughly 6,600 votes, and on TMDB it has a rating of 5.1 from about 186 votes, indicating a modest audience response across both platforms.
