The Holiday Calendar

The Holiday Calendar centres on Abby Sutton, a gifted photographer who is stuck in a job that gives her little room to grow. When she inherits an antique Advent calendar that once belonged to her grandmother, she notices that what it reveals each day seems to correspond to events in her life, including a possible new romance. As the holiday season unfolds, the calendar's hints push her to reconsider her career and her feelings for the people close to her, among them her friend Josh Barton and a suitor named Ty Walker, while her grandfather Gramps and the rest of her family look on.

Bradley Walsh directed the film, the first in the chronological list of his features, followed by An Autumn Romance, Operation Mistletoe, 'Twas the Date Before Christmas and A Royal Setting. Amyn Kaderali wrote the screenplay, David Anselmo produced, and the cast is led by Kat Graham as Abby, with Quincy Brown, Ethan Peck, Ron Cephas Jones, Genelle Williams and Laura de Carteret. It was released in November 2018 and runs 94 minutes.

Audience response has been moderate: on IMDb the film holds 5.7/10 from more than eleven thousand votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.6/10 from about a thousand votes. The two scores place it in middling but not unfavourable territory for a holiday romantic comedy.
