Koko-di Koko-da

Elin and Tobias travel to a Swedish forest campsite hoping to repair their marriage, still carrying the loss of their daughter Maja. Their trip turns into a loop of torment when a grotesque troupe emerges from the woods: a sideshow artist named Mog and his unsettling companions, who subject the couple to repeated rounds of humiliation, psychological cruelty and dark slapstick.

The film is written, produced and directed by Johannes Nyholm, whose earlier features include The Giant and who here returns to themes of grief and surreal disruption. Leif Edlund and Ylva Gallon play Tobias and Elin, with Peter Belli as Mog and Katarina Jacobson as Maja. Danish and Swedish production companies, among them Film i Väst, SVT, Svenska Filminstitutet and Beofilm, backed the project.

Koko-di Koko-da runs eighty-six minutes and mixes comedy, fantasy and horror. Critics gave it an average of 6.3 out of 10 across 61 reviews, while on TMDB it holds 5.9 out of 10 from 82 votes, a modest audience response to a deliberately divisive film. Its looping structure, animated interludes and music-box motif place it among Nyholm's more experimental works.
