Short description
The magical realm of Belogorie is experiencing a period of peace after the defeat of a previous enemy. Ivan lives comfortably among his family and friends, using a magical sword to travel between the fantasy world and the modern world for supplies. However, this stability is threatened when an ancient evil awakens and puts the existence of the magic world at risk. To restore order and protect his home, Ivan must travel beyond the known borders of his world, forming an alliance with both old companions and new rivals.
Directed by Dmitriy Dyachenko, this adventure comedy is the fourth film in his career and follows his 2017 movie, The Last Warrior. The production was a collaboration between several companies, including The Walt Disney Company CIS and Yellow, Black & White. The cast features Viktor Horinyak as Ivan, alongside Mila Syvatska, Ekaterina Vilkova, Elena Yakovleva, Konstantin Lavronenko, and Evgeniy Dyatlov.
The film had a very high budget of 650 million USD but earned a significantly lower worldwide box office of 28 million USD. Audience reception is mixed, with a rating of 5.9/10 on IMDb based on 1,800 votes and a slightly higher score of 6.7/10 on TMDB from 207 votes.
