The Pregnancy Pact is a television drama centered on Sidney Bloom, a journalist who returns to her hometown to investigate a sharp rise in pregnancies at her former high school. She finds a group of girls who have agreed to become pregnant at the same time, and her reporting brings her into conflict with Lorraine Dougan, a local mother who promotes conservative values and whose teenage daughter is among the pregnant students. A school nurse pushes the administration to provide contraception, while the town's reluctance to address the situation complicates Sidney's search for answers. The story was inspired by real events at Gloucester High School in Massachusetts.
Rosemary Rodriguez directed the film, which was her first feature, followed years later by Silver Skies. Teena Booth and Pam Davis wrote the screenplay, and Christopher Morgan produced it for Lifetime, with TF1 and Von Zerneck Sertner Films also involved. Thora Birch leads the cast as Sidney, alongside Madisen Beaty, Nancy Travis, Camryn Manheim, James McCaffrey and Tim Powell.
The film runs 87 minutes. Reception from viewers has been modest: on IMDb it holds a rating of 4.8/10 from roughly 2,400 votes, and on TMDB it sits at 5.1/10 from about 137 votes. Both figures point to a limited, mixed response rather than widespread praise.
