Set in 1920 during the Japanese occupation of Korea, this war film follows members of the Korean independence army as they clash with imperial Japanese forces in Manchuria, China. The plot focuses on Lee Jang-ha, a young commander, and his former mentor Hwang Hae-chul, a skilled swordsman. Together with other resistance fighters, they use the rugged mountain terrain to lure elite Japanese battalions into traps. The film was directed by Won Shin-yun, following his previous works The Suspect and Memoir of a Murderer.
