Call Jane

Set in Chicago in 1968, Call Jane follows Joy, a housewife living an ordinary suburban life with her husband and daughter while the city and the country are on the edge of violent political upheaval. When an unexpected pregnancy puts her health in serious danger, she discovers that the medical establishment will not help her and that a legal abortion is out of reach. Her search for a solution brings her to the Janes, a secret network of women led by Virginia who offer a safer alternative. Sigourney Weaver plays Virginia, Elizabeth Banks plays Joy, and Chris Messina, Wunmi Mosaku, Kate Mara and Cory Michael Smith appear among the twenty credited cast members. The film is a drama rooted in recent history, running 121 minutes.
