Space Sweepers

In 2092, Earth has become largely uninhabitable, and the UTS corporation is preparing to terraform Mars for a select few. Those left behind scrape by however they can, including the crew of the Victory, a ship that collects discarded debris in orbit. Its members are a former street kid turned pilot, Tae-ho, the captain Jang, the engineer Tiger Park, and a reprogrammed military robot. After recovering a crashed shuttle, they find a young humanoid robot inside and learn that she is sought by UTS and regarded as a weapon of mass destruction, which leads them to attempt a deal that puts them in danger.

Space Sweepers is a 2021 Korean science fiction film directed by Jo Sung-hee, his second feature after A Werewolf Boy in 2012. He wrote the screenplay with Yoon Seung-min and Yoo-kang Seo-ae, and the cast includes Song Joong-ki as Tae-ho, Kim Tae-ri as Captain Jang, Yoo Hae-jin voicing Bubs, Jin Sun-kyu as Tiger Park, Kim Moo-yul as Kang Hyun-woo, and Richard Armitage as UTS chief executive James Sullivan.

Made for a budget of about 21 million dollars, the film was released in February 2021 and runs 136 minutes. On TMDB it holds a rating of 7 out of 10 from roughly 1,180 votes.
