I Still Believe tells the true story of Jeremy Camp, a young American musician who falls in love with Melissa Henning. Their relationship is tested when Melissa is diagnosed with a serious illness, and the couple must decide how to face an uncertain future together. The film follows Jeremy's path through faith, love and loss as he builds a career in Christian music.
Jon and Andrew Erwin directed the film, their fifth behind the camera together, following October Baby, Moms' Night Out, Woodlawn and I Can Only Imagine. K.J. Apa plays Jeremy Camp, with Britt Robertson as Melissa Henning, Nathan Parsons as Jean-Luc Lajoie, Gary Sinise as Tom Camp, Shania Twain as Terry Camp and Reuben Dodd as Josh Camp. The screenplay was written by Jon Gunn, Jon Erwin and Jeremy Camp himself, and the film runs 115 minutes.
Released in March 2020, the film had a budget of around 12 million dollars and earned roughly 16 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.5 from about 15,000 votes, while on TMDB it has a rating of 7.6 from around 1,200 votes. A critics' score of 5.5 from 48 reviews suggests reviewers were less enthusiastic than members of the public.
